Gawa Chuu
Gawa Chuu was founded on a simple belief: that people are happier when they live closer to nature. Born in Bhutan and working worldwide, we design and build eco-conscious tiny homes that honour the land, the community, and the people who inhabit them.
Our name — "Water of Happiness" in Dzongkha — reflects our philosophy. Like water, we seek to flow gently through the world, nurturing the places we touch and leaving them better than we found them. From our first cabin on the Isle of Skye to ongoing charity projects in Nepal and Bhutan, every project we take on is guided by care, craft, and a deep respect for the natural world.
Philosophy
Rooted in the Bhutanese concept of Gross National Happiness, we believe that wellbeing comes from balance — between people and nature, between progress and preservation. Every home we build is an expression of this philosophy: thoughtful, low-impact, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
Sustainability
We build with locally sourced, natural materials wherever possible, minimise waste at every stage, and design homes that work with the land rather than against it. Off-grid ready by default, our builds are engineered for a lighter footprint and a longer life.
Dhamma
Service is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by Buddhist teachings on right action and compassion, we dedicate a portion of every project to charitable work — restoring sacred sites, supporting local communities, and nurturing the land we all share.
